To summarize, the following constitutes the most important tasks and responsibilities of the position:

  • Identify, pursue, win and deliver profitable business opportunities for Accenture in the omnichannel arena, particularly in fulfilment, e-commerce and warehousing areas

  • Act as a thought-leader in the omnichannel area to continuously challenge the status quo and deliver innovative thinking for new and existing clients

  • Articulate and deliver a vision and strategy, which will encompass new and innovative ways of working, to the omnichannel sector and future clients

  • Develop and deliver a pragmatic go-to-market strategy and attractive propositions that will impact key target organizations

  • Lead sales and operations activities for client organizations with a primary focus on the development and creation of new clients

  • Experience with designing and implementing innovative solutions for the new omnichannel customer: assisted sales service, customer interaction, federated and dynamic product catalog, store location management, centralized pricing capability, quick commerce, last mile delivery, e-billing, real time decision analysis, single sign on & authentication

  • Ability to understand, navigate and succeed in complex competitive tendering and procurement processes

  • Grow the omnichannel team in line with the agreed plan and build and extend Accenture’s profile and reputation across the full range of organizations, to fully capitalize on omnichannel and broader transformational consulting opportunities

  • Able to act as a trusted advisor to both private and public sector clients, delivering insight and expertise

  • Lead and develop fit-for-purpose project teams to deliver fulfilment, e-commerce and warehousing assignments

  • Lead, inspire and coach multi-disciplinary teams inside Accenture

  • Develop opportunities to work collaboratively across sector and service lines to deliver Accenture’s full capabilities to their clients

Key accountabilities

Business development – the role holder will:

  • be capable of developing omnichannel sales opportunities and delivering the full suite of Accenture capabilities through internal collaboration and partnerships

  • generate omnichannel sales with new and existing clients

  • actively participate in and support the wider Accenture Partner Group

  • create opportunities for increased revenue generation in adjacent service lines and sectors

Consulting capability – the role holder will:

  • have an entrepreneurial, creative, and inspirational nature

  • have a strong heritage of selling omnichannel services within and beyond focus sectors

  • be able to develop new propositions, combining digital and technology innovation

  • shape and lead assignments, enabling the consultant team to best deliver value to the client

  • identify and access appropriate skills from the Accenture resource pool to deliver significant value to client organizations

  • manage assignments to optimize utilization, profitability and learning potential

  • add value by the quality of advice and depth of expertise

  • gain client commitment to Accenture deliverables

  • manage operational, commercial and reputation risks associated with client work

Professional thought leadership – the role holder will:

  • create innovative and breakthrough market insights combining fulfilment, e-commerce and warehousing experience leading to significant business opportunities with new and existing clients

  • apply innovative ideas into complex client challenges

People development – the role holder will:

  • be able to provide insight and coaching

  • be able to identify and nurture talent; and

  • be able to recruit and attract a team

Management and leadership – the role holder will:

  • engage in company-wide initiatives

  • develop an internal network to meet personal and Accenture objectives

  • demonstrates discipline and adherence to company policy and procedure

Professional Skill Requirements:  

  • Expertise in developing practical omnichannel strategies/driving supply chain transformations

  • 10+ years’ experience within a consulting firm – preferably from a leading international consultancy house (Tier 1 and Tier 2) or a strong boutique

  • Outstanding reputation in sector for delivering highly impactful and transformational results that reduce cost, whilst increasing quality and speed for clients

  • Ideally will have industry and consulting experience, and will have personal understanding of the challenges facing clients as they seek efficiencies

  • Dynamic, effective and high impact with an ability to get to the heart of issues rapidly and exhaustively. Perceived by clients and colleagues to have stature and presence

  • Self-motivated, results-focused and thrives in an organization which provides clear accountability

  • Highly entrepreneurial, taking responsibility for making things happen

  • Open straightforward and collaborative style. Clear, articulate and persuasive communicator

  • High social competencies, convincing in negotiation and in resolving complex situations

  • Comfortable operating at all senior management levels up to board level and highly credible in the contribution that they make

  • Experienced at meeting project milestones within time, cost and quality constraints

  • Productive, motivational and inspiring to the team they lead and manage
