The unit is set up for hyper-growth and is currently searching for key individuals to drive this business. The cloud-first solution architecture function is the strategic pillar for this business.

The Accenture Cloud First Solution Architecture organisation is responsible for designing the end-to-end solution of Accenture’s large transformational managed service contracts as part of the sales process and for coordinating the solutioning process across Europe. 

Accenture Solution Architects  translate client requirements into solutions that will create value for Accenture and our clients. They are master craftsmen using all tools in the arsenal, Solution Planners use their robust delivery skills, deep understanding of the competitive landscape and unparalleled knowledge of Accenture offerings to create win/win solutions for our clients and Accenture. Sales understanding and financial acumen allow them to empower our clients with creative solutions and advocate Accenture offerings within the market and our business.

Role description

The responsibility includes defining, estimating and planning the transformation and/or operation of the solution, service level agreements, tools and automation solution, the delivery team and structure, governance and locations, partner services (such as data center and public cloud, or field support), and any other cost component or driver of the solution.

Solution Architects work closely with Opportunity Leads, who own the overall client relationship, with bid management as well as with legal and commercial topics. Therefore, this role requires a strong mix of deal shaping & content expertise. Solution Architects need to be generalists. They need to strive to get agreement on the solution with the client buying team, Accenture’s delivery organization, Accenture senior business unit management, and the commercial team headed by the opportunity lead. The client and Accenture opportunity lead & commercial team will usually push for a lower-cost solution, to increase margin and/or lower total price. The delivery organization will typically tend to include more contingency and a more conservative solution.

It is an integral part of their responsibility to own, manage, and ensure the quality of client-facing content that presents the solution. This includes proposal material, proposal orals, meeting notes, workshop artefacts and presentations, due diligence content, Q&A content, etc.. It includes the written documents along with the oral presentation of content also including the solution and delivery team.

Solution Architects work with our global delivery teams across the various towers and locations and the senior leadership of the delivery function to ensure proper specification and deliverability of the solution and manage the according review and approval process.

Overall, Solution Architects need to shape a winning differentiated solution taking the different points of view into account, for the deals they are personally working on, and for those they are coordinating, and ensure they are approved internally.

The Solution Architect will be responsible for the following solution scope:

Responsibilities

  • Own the solution for all service components

  • Architect a compelling and competitive solution with a focus on the public cloud which demonstrates significant and quantifiable value to the client;

  • Leverage Accenture assets and third-party relationships in architecting solutions;

  • Lead the solution planning teams for large, complex deals including multiple solution architects, subject matter experts, transition and transformation experts

  • Work alongside Sales Support to manage the senior client buyers and solution owners (e.g. CFO, CIO, VP or Director) and selling the solution;

  • Bring the operational experience to bear to ensure the solution is deliverable at acceptable risk to Accenture;

  • Develop and negotiate contract content to ensure the infrastructure solution is contracted to deliver client and Accenture value;

  • Ensure solution is transitioned successfully into the delivery;

  • Build strong links with and working collaboratively with Accenture Services (e.g. Strategy & Consulting, Operations, Interactive) and groups to ensure holistic solutions, transition, and delivery;
     

Manager

  • On each opportunity or proposal they work on, manage a team of 3-5 solution architects, specialists, and delivery team members.

  • Solution TCV between 5-15 Mio. USD
     

Senior Manager

  • On each opportunity or proposal they work on, manage a team of 5-10 solution architects, specialists, and delivery team members.

  • Solution TCV between 10-20 Mio. USD

  • From time to time assume responsibility for the End-to-end Solution across the different capabilities/towers
     

Associate Director

  • On each opportunity or proposal they work on, manage a team of 5-10 solution architects, specialists, and delivery team members.

  • Solution TCV between 15-25 Mio. USD

  • Frequently assume responsibility for the End-to-end Solution across the different capabilities/towers

The right candidates have strong solution content and are ‘enablers’ and facilitators who can drive a client and Accenture team to conclude on a solution beneficial for both Client and Accenture. They are preferably eager individuals combining commercial and content skills including:

  • Understanding of discovery & assessment

  • Ability to disposition (R’s)

  • Knowledge of CSP specific migration tools

  • Ability to crate market relevant Lean Migration Solution

The Solution Architect will also have the following Qualifications by Level:

All Levels

  • Bachelor- or Master-level (preferred) University degree;

  • Experience in architecting transformation and/or operations solutions in at least one of the “Pillars”, with a proven track record (wins) in defining and selling cloud-centric migration, implementation and transformation solutions for leading global enterprises with a deal values of over 5 million EUR;

  • Experience in cloud products and offerings including, especially from AWS, Azure or Google, ideally with one or more formal certifications;

  • Strong project management skills and associated experience in Information Technology Engineering and Outsourcing (including experience with industry-standard project management methods and tools);

  • Excellent client/customer relationship management skills at the executive and VP level, ideally with proven experience working at the C-level and client/customer service management skills;

  • Good people management skills;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and in the local language;

  • Willingness to travel

Manager

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Technology Environment with a strong focus on Infrastructure,  Systems Integration and/or Application Outsourcing Services;

Senior Manager

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Technology Environment with a strong focus on Infrastructure,  Systems Integration and/or Application Outsourcing Services;

Associate Director

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Technology Environment with a strong focus on Infrastructure,  Systems Integration and/or Application Outsourcing Services;
