Within the Advanced Technology Internship, you will experience firsthand how Accenture turns the latest technological innovations into value by researching and implementing a dedicated area.

  • Data Analytics: Within Accenture’s Data & AI capability our Data Analytics team has substantial experience helping corporate clients unlock value in their data. This same expertise can be hugely beneficial in fighting societal issues. In line with Accenture’s core values we strongly believe in making sure that our expertise is not only leveraged for profit, but also contributes to doing some good for the world. Often this includes projects to support NGO’s - in the Netherlands for example there have been successful data analytics related projects with the Red Cross and the Plastic Soup Foundation. In the same vein we set out an internship assignment for a student to investigate how data science can be applied to provide either better insight into or a solution for a societal issue. This may be on a worldwide scale (e.g. climate impact of IT usage) or our specific location (e.g. the poverty issues in the Parkstad region).
  • • Investigate how Accenture’s knowledge, experience and methodology in the data analytics area can be applied to societal issues
  • • Expand our use case portfolio with a captivating demo
  • • Create impact on societal issues with Data Science Scope & approach
  • • Identify a suitable societal issue – one that is significant, has (aspects that have) not been tackled with data science yet, but is feasible and interesting to take a quantitative approach to
  • • Conduct thorough research into the domain and design a solution
  • • Model the situation in data – through publicly available sources
  • • Deliver a proof of concept – either in applicable vendor tooling (PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, AWS, Azure) or programmed in Python Profile

Your team

Our colleagues in the services-based Technology group help clients, both big and small, with revolutionary IT transformations. Which cloud platform fits best with client X? How do certain IT-solutions impact the risk analysis of suppliers? How can organizations become more agile and through what process are new applications developed from design thinking workshops?

Working closely alongside clients and an international team of professionals you will develop innovative solutions, through mediums such as robotics and artificial intelligence. Throughout the business process you will engage in the development of defense strategies, combining technology and user behavior, to ensure the security of your client. Together we connect the needs of clients with upcoming innovative technologies prepare them for the future.

Your background

You are;

  • in the final year of your graduation from college, preferably a specialization in the areas of: Software Engineering, Computer science, IT or Data Analytics;
  • an enthusiastic self-starter, eager to learn and able to work independently;
  • a team player with excellent communication skills and a problem solving attitude;
  • fluent in Dutch and English;
  • Ability to do scripting and or programming is a pre;
  • Affinity with opensource tooling is also a pre.
