Ahead in the cloud
Mercedes-Benz's leaders recognized that its online presence was inefficient and fragmented, with various customer-facing views and online portals. They aimed to unify this environment and envision the cloud as a solution to develop new content, functionality, and features more swiftly - for example, its car configurator and booking app to have customers schedule their test drives.
Mercedes-Benz worked together with Accenture to use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to implement the idea of a unified online experience through a consolidated cloud-based solution, with the goal of better satisfying customer demands.

Agility and scale of cloud
Today, Mercedes-Benz has one consistent platform for distributing relevant and engaging experiences to customers, including the ability to improve services consistently.
With Accenture and AWS's help, Mercedes-Benz now has a cloud-based technology infrastructure that is considerably more modern and flexible than its non-integrated legacy solutions. Together, we set up the cloud-platform as a domain- and component-oriented framework to support an ecosystem of internal and external development teams. It consists of a powerful cloud management system, a micro-services oriented architecture, and front-end collaboration tools.

Accenture refined the automated processes for the platform and then began the rollout. Through the component-based architectures and special enablement programs, Accenture was able to scale teams and effectively increase rollout speed.
The exceedingly rapid provisioning of computing power and container management has allowed Mercedes-Benz to found a truly agile software development lifecycle that propels fast innovation.
Within four months, the team set up a new solution in 18 countries. That implementation rate was unprecedented for Mercedes-Benz.
